2018 Eastern Canada trip: Day two - from Lévis to Halifax
Ladies and gentlemen!
On the second day of my voyage to Eastern Canada, I went from Quebec across New Brunswick to Nova Scotia aboard the Ocean. The train ride took twenty-two hours which means it was two hours longer than initially scheduled. I really enjoyed the ride and was able to discover numerous stunning landscapes as you can see below.
Highlights: The weather was mostly cold and wet but I was cozy and warm inside the train. To my surprise, I ended up having a good night of sleep without any disturbances. I was able to chat with a few other passengers, including a tourist from Prince Edward Island. I was able to find a hotel really quickly upon arriving in Halifax. Waverley Inn is a wonderful historic building and I ended up staying there for four nights in a row. It would end up being my favourite hotel during my entire trip across Eastern Canada.
Curiosities: On the train, passengers in economy class were restricted to the passenger and the dining cars and couldn't go to the actual restaurant or observation cars. A hotel room at the Westin Nova Scotia costs close to four hundred dollars per night. I have been to hotels in downtown Paris that are much less expensive. I decided to stay elsewhere which was definitely the right choice.
