I attended a very entertaining hockey game between the current Stanley Cup Champions Saint Louis Blues and Ottawa Senators last Thursday night. Even though only 9204 people were in attendance, the atmosphere was intense. The Senators played a great game offensively but the defense was atrocious yet again. My team has lost the first three games of its season which will certainly not attract bigger crowds. The fact that the Canadian Tire Centre is very far away from downtown already doesn't help. However, the new bus routes make traveling from downtown to Kanata even more complicated than last season. I guess it's going to be a tough season but we have to be resilient and work towards a brighter future. Go Sens go!

After four delays, Ottawa's new Confederation Line finally opened on September 14th 2019. Last night, I had the opportunity to take the train twice when I went to the NHL game between the St. Louis Blues and the Ottawa Senators. The train runs smoothly, looks sharp and brings passengers quickly from one place to another. The only negative element is that the bus lines connecting to the train stations have been modified. On Tuesday, it took me about three hours instead of two to get from Gatineau to The Brass Monkey despite the new train line. Getting from Gatineau to Canadian Tire Centre almost took two hours when it took between one hour and ninety minutes before. I hope the bus schedules and routes will get adapted to help passengers travel from one place to another more efficiently in the future.

Ottawa Fury FC has qualified for the USL playoffs for the very first time in its history thanks to its 1-2 away win against Swope Park Rangers on Tuesday night. It might also be the last time since the team is expected to join the Canadian Premier League in 2020. Make sure to watch the remaining games, support the team and perhaps attend a home game at beautiful TD Place. Go Fury!
