• Predictions of the 2015 Major League Soccer season

    Dear readers of my blog,

the 2015 Major League Soccer season is going to start in about one month and a half. This new MLS season will feature the addition of two promising expansion sides: New York City FC with British veteran Frank Lampard and Orlando City SC with Brazilian World Cup Champion Kaka. The league though also folded a franchise with Chivas USA from the Los Angeles area. This means that a total of twenty teams divided into two conferences will battle for the MLS Cup from March to December 2015. Apart of seventeen teams from the United States of America, three Canadian teams will also perform again: Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Toronto FC and my favourite team Montreal Impact. Over the past few weeks, several drafts have been held and many new players are going to enter the league as most teams have by now started their preparation camps for the upcoming season. Montreal Impact is already going to play against Mexican side C.F. Pachuca in the quarterfinals of the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League in February and March 2015 before the start of the MLS season. Let's see if Montreal Impact can perform better than last season and if they can defend their Amway Canadian Championship title. I'm curious to know if Seattle Sounders FC might win another Supporters' Shield for the most successful team of the regular season. Finally, I would like to know if Los Angeles Galaxy could obtain another MLS Cup without their retired star Landon Donovan.

To keep things short, here are my detailed predictions for the outcome of the 2015 MLS season, the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League and the 2015 Amway Canadian Championship.
