United Soccer League playoffs: Ottawa Fury FC versus Charleston Battery on October 23rd 2019
Ladies and gentlemen!
For the first time in four years, Ottawa Fury FC qualified for the playoffs. My home team played against Charleston Battery. After an early goal by our opponent, Mour Samb scored a stunning equalizer before half time. The score was still 1-1 after ninety minutes and we were headed for extra time on a brisky Wednesday night in front of 2427 fans. Since no team scored in the thirty minutes of extra time, penalty kicks were necessary to decide the outcome of this decisive match. Mour Samb who had helped the team make it to extra time and penalty kicks was ironically the only player who missed his penalty as he hit the crossbar. Despite the heartbreaking defeat, Ottawa Fury FC had played its greatest season in USL history and I'm already looking forward to attending the next season come spring.« Zhong Guo Ji Zhang / The Captain (2019) - Balancing tearjerking empathy and ominous violence - 9/10 (25/10/19)This place wants us dead - A review of Tuunbaq's Graves of Ice »
