• Vancouver has been awarded a franchise for the Canadian Premier League!

Canadian Premier League (CPL) Commissioner David Clanachan announced that SixFive Sports & Entertainment LP (SixFive) has been awarded an expansion franchise in Vancouver, British Columbia. The ninth Canadian Premier League club plans to join the league for the 2023 season.

SixFive is a Canadian-based investment fund that seeks to establish a diversified global portfolio of professional sports teams and infrastructure centred around an engaged and intimate community sports experience. SixFive is led by financier and Knightsbridge Capital owner, Dean Shillington as well as former Canadian National Team and European League players Josh Simpson and Rob Friend and Starlight Investments. SixFive is focused on driving investment growth by creating a unique international network around sports and fan engagement.

The addition of this ninth CPL team in 2023 continues the League’s vision of giving fans and players a place to direct their passion for soccer from coast to coast while creating a pathway for our homegrown players to develop and showcase their skills in front of passionate supporters.
