The first album of "The Dogma" is a dark, symphonical and quite diversified album that mostly touches the Power and Symphonic Metal genre with some slightly Gothic influences. The first track and title song already shows the diversity of the band in one...
This exotic melodic power heavy and sometimes death metal band from Qatar convinces at first try with some amazing guitar solos like in the fast and musically well elaborated "Thee ivy and thy tree" where even the drums are quite tight and diversified....
Bao Ni Ping An, internationally known as Post Truth, is a quirky comedy drama that walks off the beaten path and deserves more attention. This Chinese production criticizes the use of social media by millennials and how people easily believe the most...
After the highly promising and short appetizer in form of the well entitled “Ignition” EP, the new German Power Metal supergroup with ex-Helloween singer Michael Kiske, ex-Helloween and Gamma Ray mastermind Kai Hansen on the guitars and some background...

This second single of the "7" album presents us the single, one exclusive song and the very well done video clip of the hit single "Küss mich" and is a nice gimmick for the collectors and true fans but not for someone else. "Erdbeermund" is a very epic...
This CD wasn't actually planned by the band and has been created after the band had been invited to play an acoustic concert at a local radio station in front of a couple of fans. The band liked the experience so much that they decided to make an album...
Dimmu Borgir have never been a very stereotypical and traditional black metal band and people who claim that the band "betrays the genre", "dishonours a philosophy" or "forgets about its roots" are completely wrong. After the last albums, this step was...
Mirage is an atmospheric, emotional, and technical progressive rock/metal band from China. One could easily call them a Chinese version of bands such as Dream Theater or The Last Successor. It took the band ten years to record their first record, but...
This movie is probably my favourite psycho thriller of all times. The film inspired me even to begin again to write novels after I have watched it. I have seen this movie at least three times and I get always drowned in a very special atmosphere when...
Three years after the commercial success of "Saengerkrieg", The German Medieval Rock band In Extremo finally released a new album after many acoustic shows, the departure of their drummer and their first own festival in honour of their fifteenth birthday....
I discovered Mongolian folk rock band Hanggai back in 2012 when I was particularly interested in Chinese culture, history and music. I managed to purchase a rare copy of their excellent 2010 record He Who Travels Far. I never expected to get the chance...
Powervice are one of many retro heavy metal bands that are clearly influenced by the hard rock and emerging heavy metal music of the late seventies and the early eighties. They are as solid as genre colleagues such as Bullet, Vanderbuyst, White Wizzard...
''The Suspect'' is a South Korean action-thriller in the vein of several contemporary spy movies like ''The Berlin File''. The movie tells the story of a North Korean defector who has once been a top special forces agent. After years of loyal service...
"Le Grand Guignol" is the name of a famous theatre in Paris that is known for its grisly horror shows and also the name of this outstanding avant-garde metal band from the beautiful Luxembourg. In comparison to other avant-garde bands like Adversus, UneXpect...

April Rain is a post-rock quartet from Saint Petersburg that has just released its eighth release in only five years with the stunning Mirror of Ether. The album includes ten songs with a total running time of fifty-nine minutes. Right from the start,...
If you liked the band's first two records, you will also happen to like this record as the Scottish pirate metal musicians didn't change their formula at all or tried out some experiments. I must admit that this is a rather negative point because the...
Adverus is a band that doesn't sound like anything else. Their sound is very intellectual, diversified and sometimes almost schizophrenic. The band is mostly influenced by the Gothic genre with its dark and emotional lyrics, its harmonic male vocals,...
“A pale horse named death” is a band with a very cool name and a great album cover that plays first of all a melancholic mixture of gothic and doom metal in the key of “Type 0 Negative”. Even though the influence of this band is omnipresent and weighs...
The record of the band Onmyo-Za attracted me because of the stylish band photo, the unusual cover artwork and many positive experiences with diversified, stunning and sometimes surreal Japanese metal bands from classic groups such as Loudness or X Japan...
"Liam" has been chosen as a third single from the masterpiece "Mein rasend Herz" because the band represented the land Thuringia with this song during the German television event Bundesvision Song Contest. They played a mixture of the German and the original...
Usually, greatest hits albums are quite unnecessary for fans of the band but that isn't the case with this compilation album. First of all, the band re-recorded some of their old classics that had a really awful quality back in the day. "Hiemali tempore"...
Versus is a Japanese movie that is quite challenging to classify. It includes elements of fantasy with portals leading to other worlds. It could be described as a horror movie due to the presence of murderous zombies. This is also an action film featuring...
"King of fools" was a very well done EP, but this single or EP hasn't the same quality. A part of the very solid and funny hard rock driven title track, you can find a couple of acoustic songs on this very calm EP that has nothing to do with power metal...
