This thriller attracted my attention because of its beautiful location in Torino and the big names of director Dario Argento and actor Adrien Brody. I shouldn't have trusted in those names as this movie is a completely ordinary thriller in every sense...
I didn't expect that much from the movie as I bought it at a cheap price for several reasons. First of all, I am interested in Chinese culture and history and in my university classes, we were recently talking a lot about the era of Mao. Second, I saw...
The first part of the series was very superficial, dumb and boring and only turned around movies such as "Scream" or "I know what you did last summer". The second movie is easily an improvement as the number of referenced movies is much bigger and even...
The big names of Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and the highly memorable and convincing John Malkovich unite in this quite diversified movie that has a strong humorous and human touch but soon turns out to be also a tension loaded conspiracy thriller with...
Exactly one year ago, I wrote my first reviews on this web site and this one is my review number one hundred. To underline and celebrate this kind of anniversary, I decided to pick one of my favourite movies of all times. Everything about this movie just...
This movie must be one of the worst comedy movies ever and is a breakdown after many great films coming from Quebec last year such as "Tough luck", "Incendies" and "The hair of the beast". Every thing about this movie seems to be copied in the wrong way....
I must admit that I have seen the bad cut version of this movie. As soon as a fight begins and the enemies face each other, there is a cut and in the next seen, a dead man lies on the ground and the main actor continues its strange journey. I don't know...
This is the first part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. This short and sweat Irish zombie slasher doesn't only convince with beautiful landscapes but also with a few original ways to slaughter some zombies (you get...
This is now already the fourth part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. "Black sheep" is a very funny and extremely entertaining horror parody that comes from New Zealand. There are many crazy ideas, hilarious ideas...
I really enjoyed the first movie of the series that introduced a bunch of great characters and a lot of people say that the series went quickly into a downward spiral afterwards. Concerning the second part of the series, I really can't agree because this...
This movie is an entertaining flick that one can see once but not more. I would suggest you to loan this movie if you are interested in a short and action filled movie with a few fantasy and horror elements in a beautiful geographical and historical setting....
Honestly said, this movie is a rather mediocre and even quite boring thriller with the usual scenario. There is not much tension or action in the movie and there are many lengths. Many people talk about twists and surprises but anyone that has already...
"Bedevilled" is another and once again brilliant tale of revenge coming from South Korea which is in the vein of already now legendary masterpieces such as "Oldboy" and "I saw the devil". What distinguishes this movie from the other ones and justifies...
James Cameron's Sanctum always proves that the ex-Canadian and now Hollywood director was involved in the project. The movie focuses on beautiful and breathtaking landscapes, a lot of special and light effects and dramatic survival action. But it also...
This is now already the fifth part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. When I bought this movie at a low price a couple of days ago I expected some entertaining gore horror movie and the short length of only seventy-six...
Vidocq is a masterpiece and easily amongst the best movies of the last decade. There are several reasons for this but the most stunning one is the visual beauty of this movie that gives this flick an artistic, atmospheric and also surreal touch. I have...
Stahlmann is a Neue Deutsche Harte band in the key of Rammstein, Oomph! and Megaherz that has been around for eleven years now. The band has released six studio records in the past nine years and has played numerous festivals. The group's work ethic is...
I was really intrigued by the trailer of this movie and decided to go to the cinema for the first time for a pretty while. The film is very worthwhile and touching with a great main actor, an interesting plot, a lot of suspense and action, a twisted part...
The first part of the very loosely bound "Yeogo goedam" series that tell stories about supernatural events happening in Korean girl schools is the best one I have seen so far and easily beats the second and third part. This movie mixes everything a good...
I must admit that I have first seen the sequel of this movie because my girlfriend wanted to watch it in the cinema. Even though the whole thing was quite expensive with fifteen bucks for a movie of one and a half hour with a couple of mediocre special...
"Super 8" is a very creative science-fiction movie that can be seen as an homage to the works of Steven Spielberg such as "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial" or "The Goonies". The movie is not only set in the end of the...
This is now already the third part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. "Eden Log" is a completely underrated dark experimental science-fiction movie. It impresses with brilliant camera settings that give the movie an...
Just like their genre colleagues Katatonia, gothic metal pioneers Paradise Lost have decided to play a concert without audience during the ongoing pandemic, in this case at The Mill Nightclub in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The band has decided to play sixteen...
This is the first part of a trilogy about a serial murderer that kidnaps, rapes and kills little girls. As a young and emotional rookie journalist does his own investigations concerning the most recent and third murder, local police officers, entrepreneurs...
"Two Guns" is a very entertaining action movie that mixes brutal and tension filled moments on one side with a lot of addicting dry humour on the other side. The chemistry between the two outstanding main actors Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg is...
