"Liam" has been chosen as a third single from the masterpiece "Mein rasend Herz" because the band represented the land Thuringia with this song during the German television event Bundesvision Song Contest. They played a mixture of the German and the original...
Usually, greatest hits albums are quite unnecessary for fans of the band but that isn't the case with this compilation album. First of all, the band re-recorded some of their old classics that had a really awful quality back in the day. "Hiemali tempore"...
Versus is a Japanese movie that is quite challenging to classify. It includes elements of fantasy with portals leading to other worlds. It could be described as a horror movie due to the presence of murderous zombies. This is also an action film featuring...
"King of fools" was a very well done EP, but this single or EP hasn't the same quality. A part of the very solid and funny hard rock driven title track, you can find a couple of acoustic songs on this very calm EP that has nothing to do with power metal...
In Flames' pivotal fifth full length effort unites the band's past and future strengths (or weaknesses) like no other record. The release still features some faster melodic death metal elements from the past as well as the melodic twin guitar leads in...
Schandmaul are a really energizing live band and have some really talented musicians in their rows. Their lyrics are mostly interesting and talk about old German folk tales, “Märchen” or historical events and sometimes invented stories by the band of...
OSI are an abbreviation for “Office of Strategic Influence” which was also the band’s first release nine years ago. The group is composed of the two famous Progressive Metal musicians Kevin Moore who has been in Dream Theater as well as in Fates Warning...
Gretel & Hansel is loosely based upon the German folk tale Hänsel & Grethel by the Brothers Grimm. It tells the story of an independent sister and her childish brother who leave their hometown behind to join a group of woodcutters to get some work and...
This movie definitely is one of the better crime movies I have seen in the past few years. It's not necessarily the solid but overall not too creative story that makes this movie so great but especially the intriguing characters and the flawless acting....
Unbeing are a quite unknown completely instrumental progressive metal band from Montreal. I discovered their debut record by pure coincidence. It was sold by a lable during a black metal show. Let's note that this music has nothing at all to do with extreme...
Ten years had passed between Japanese progressive power metal group Galneryus' first studio album and this wonderful release. The band had already accomplished much in those ten years, including the release of eight studio albums, nine extended plays...
This new recording of Edguy's first album offers the chance to discover the band's origins and listen to the songs they have done when they were still at school and about seventeen years old. This happens to be a fact that many people tend to forget....
I discovered this exotic band from Tunisia with a song from their second album last year on a sampler included in the normally pretty weak British Metal Hammer magazine but I forgot to check them out. With the release of their new third record, I remembered...
Elvenking's first strike is already amongst the best works this band has ever done and shows a degree of diversity and fresh ideas that many other bands of the genre don't have any more. The band mixes folk influences with majestic power metal sounds...
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets isn't only the best novel of the franchise but also the best movie along with the first entry Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone. The story revolves around a mysterious dangerous presence at Hogwarts that paralyzes...
I lately discovered this female fronted Symphonic Metal band from Belgium because I read about it in a forum. The main difference between this group and the average Nightwish or Within Temptation clone is that singer Ann van Rooy has a lot of power in...
It has been quite a while ago since I have witnessed such a great movie in the cinemas. This is easily the best American movie since Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island". "The Grey" has so many memorable and touching scenes, an incredible and authentic...
The band name sounds like kitsch, the cover artwork looks like kitsch, the music sounds like kitsch but Magic Kingdom from Belgium eventually deliver some truly entertaining high quality symphonic power metal kitsch. The special edition of this record...
This film tells the story of a young thief who gets involved in the story of an ancient curse: an ancient military hero got cursed by a jealous and egoistic priest to live as a wolf by night and his beautiful girlfriend as a hawk by day so that they could...
Whoracle is probably In Flames' weakest studio release. It doesn't have the bleak atmosphere of the first releases, fails to come around with the catchy melodies and vocal lines of the transitory middle years and doesn't feature the more experimental...
A band called Havok, an album cover with an illuminated skull and a Pantera cover song are strong indicators that this quartet is another aggressive nu thrash metal band. This approach can only work if the band either finds its own niche musically or...
Russian heavy metal pioneers Aria decided to re-record their two studio albums featuring former singer Arthur Berkut with the current line-up featuring singer Mikhail Zhitnyakov. In a certain way, this is a lack of respect for the former singer who had...
Ladies and gentlemen, Annihilator is without a doubt Ottawa's most famous band. The diversified thrash metal band founded by Jeff Waters has released fifteen studio records since its inception in 1984. This article introduces you to the band's early years...
It took a full decade for the the People's Republic of China's pioneer heavy metal band to come around with a third and until now last album. While their first record was groundbreaking with its fusion of Western rock music and Chinese folk sounds and...
''Hacksaw Ridge'' is a superbly crafted anti-war movie and easily the best movie of its kind since the release of the South Korean war epic ''My Way'' five years earlier. This movie is based upon true events and tells the story of Seventh-day Adventist...
