"No prayer for the dying" is considered as one of the weakest albums of Iron Maiden and I must agree that it is in my bottom top three as I exceptionally agree with the majority. There are multiple reasons why fans criticized this album. For the first...
Edguy deliver a very solid double live album here. The only negative point might be that the set list is not very long. Without introduction, drum solo and band member presentations, the length would only be around eight minutes which isn't very much....
It may sound strange to you, but in my opinion the bonus song is the best one on the whole album. I'm sorry for those ones who bought only the regular edition without this song and the poster. But does that mean that the rest of the album is a deception?...
"K-20" is a visually stunning Japanese steam punk epic with a couple of promising ideas that are destroyed with a too ordinary story and a quite instable acting performance. The story takes places in an alternate history of the year 1949 in Japan where...
This movie came as a huge surprise to me. I actually watched this movie because there was nothing else on television and expected a brutal and modern martial arts movie with a couple of beautiful women that would be rather superficial and more or less...
This is a modern European power metal album that has everything it needs to be a masterpiece. It is tight, melodic, epic and diversified. I would even say that this record is maybe the best power metal record of the decade and easily Edguy's greatest...
Edguy deliver their first greatest hits album here and it is as interesting for a newbie or more recent fan of the bands as it is for the regular fan. The first kind of people get delivered thirteen very good Edguy songs on the first CD with classics...
I bought this album for only 1 Euro at Woolworth and didn't know anything about this band. While I didn't expect very much, I got surprised by this record. The band plays straight power metal with guts and has even some progressive and surprising elements....
"In Bruges" is a rather unusual genre mix with many funny moments but also a couple of lengths and a more or less convincing story line. The movie mixes many comedy elements with romantic bits and pieces, a suspenseful background story, some cultural...

This is a solid drama about true events that happened in a working and correction camp of young criminals on a lost island of Norway. The story tells the acts of rebellion, vengeance and escape of young males in 1915 when a paedophile supervisor comes...
"King of fools" was a very well done EP, but this single or EP hasn't the same quality. A part of the very solid and funny hard rock driven title track, you can find a couple of acoustic songs on this very calm EP that has nothing to do with power metal...
I must admit that I am not a big fan of Children of Bodom. In my opinion, those guys are a bunch of posers and their main fan base are male teenagers that think they are rebellious and very metal while they listen to their wicked music amongst other favourites...
Everything the fans liked about the German folk rock pioneers Subway to Sally has gone with this album. There are no more creative and traditional lyrics. The amazing violins and pipers are almost inaudible on this record. There are no positive, catchy...

Snow White and the Huntsman is a classic fantasy movie based on the famous German fairy tale "Snow White" by the Brothers Grimm. The movie is loosely bound on the most important elements of that fairy tale but has not the same dark vibe as the original....
"Monument of Metal - The Very Best of Anvil'' has only one single purpose: introducing the band to those who haven't known them before and those who have only occasionally listened to them. This compilation is a good way to get introduced to the band...
After the interesting, entertaining and inspiring "Gold" album, In Extremo made another acoustic album, this time without any exceptions, experiments or surprises a part of the funny and very short hidden track. The style of this album is much more epic,...
As a matter of fact, Chernobyl Diaries is another rather generic horror movie with only a few truly shocking scenes and a quite predictable ending. The only thing that makes this release a little bit more special than other horror movies of the same kind...

This is the second part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. "Steel trap" seems at first sight to be another ordinary psychological thriller or slasher movie in the shadows of the great "The cube", "Mind Hunters" and...
Here comes another superhero movie after all those Supermen, Batmen, Spidermen and so on. Many movie experts simply start getting tired of all these quite similar movies and I only watched this one because somebody told me that this was a standout of...
Elvenking's first strike is already amongst the best works this band has ever done and shows a degree of diversity and fresh ideas that many other bands of the genre don't have any more. The band mixes folk influences with majestic power metal sounds...
