This movie has kicked of a whole bunch of sequels and seems to be amongst the most popular contemporary movies in Japan. As I am a big fan of the Japanese cinema, I was looking forward to discover the universe of Tomie with this first movie. In the beginning,...
This movie is a very entertaining mixture of "Die Hard", "Cliffhanger", "The Fugitive" and "The great silence" with a little touch of Asian culture, a very emotional background and a couple of smart little twists in the ending. Even though this movie...
This movie really is about the sense of humour and another unique cinematic gem coming from Québec. It's really hard to make me laugh but this movie almost permanently put at least a little smile on my face. When I wasn't laughing I was stunned by the...
Hobo with a Shotgun is a great comeback for the charismatic actor Rutger Hauer that has played in many well known classics of modern cinema such as Blade Runner, Ladyhawke and The Hitcher. He plays the role of a merciless and yet very philosophic, melancholic...
This second part of the two Mesrine movies shows us the return of Mesrine to France, how he became the public enemy number one and how he was finally gunned down by the French police after two extreme decades of living on the edge of life. The acting...
When a good friend of mine introduced me this flick as a "classic" of the horror genre I thought he was actually joking. I had never watched this movie because it seemed rather bad and stereotypical to me and when my friend convinced me to give it a try...
As if the first two embarrassing instalments for the entire horror genre would not have been enough, Hollywood decided to make a couple more retarded teenagers go to the cinema and created a third part of the series that has now even come back with an...
The third part of the loosely bound "Yeogo goedam" series is a mixture of the first and the second movie. It takes some suspense and horror elements from the first and best part of the series and the dramatic and romantic fragments of the much weaker...
Let me introduce you to this movie with a little warning. Don't expect it being a pure vengeance flick. You shouldn't also be misled by the fact that this movie comes from Hongkong and expect a high paced martial arts movie. This also isn't a movie about...
This movie is probably the heaviest one I have ever seen in terms of mental and physical brutality even though I know movies that touch me even more. Anybody that has problems with torture scenes, cannibalism, violations and explicit sexual content as...
Saltatio Mortis’ nine band members have been a part of the German medieval rock scene since the year 2000. This scene came to life in the middle of the 1990’s when medieval market bands started to mix traditional instruments like bagpipes, bouzoukis,...
First of all, one should expect from such a low budget television production that this flick can't be as good as a cinema production and there are indeed horrible special effects, a couple of stupid goofs (especially the balloon riding scenes) and some...
This is one of the most unusual, diversified and courageous movies you might ever see in your life. Don't get fooled by the silly trash cover or the strange movie title, the Korean cinema delivers once again a new masterpiece that easily beats any Hollywood...
This CD wasn't actually planned by the band and has been created after the band had been invited to play an acoustic concert at a local radio station in front of a couple of fans. The band liked the experience so much that they decided to make an album...
I really don't have any clue why this feature got so many positive reviews and is even considered as a cult movie by some. There are many great fantasy and horror movies coming from such as "Vertige", "Proie", "Vidocq" and many more but this movie simply...
As a big fan of the band, it was a sure thing for me to consider buying this demo from the shop of the band's label Prophecy Productions for 9,99 Euro. I think that this smart demo is a very interesting gimmick for the big fans of the band but maybe not...
"Eden weint im Grab" is the project of the creative multiinstrumentalist and singer Alexander Paul Blake who creates a very creepy and dark atmosphere on this very poetic and haunting album "Trauermarsch nach Neotopia". The album is much diversified and...
This is the second part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. "Steel trap" seems at first sight to be another ordinary psychological thriller or slasher movie in the shadows of the great "The cube", "Mind Hunters" and...
It's a shame that this movie didn't get the attention it would have deserved. Michel Rodde delivers us a slow development of a gripping drama that turns into a psychological thriller. The main actors coming from France and Quebec convince and get a great...
The two Mesrine movies are easily the best gangster movies of the last years and can without a doubt be described as the French Godfathers even though the two films have not exactly the same class as the legendary masterpieces. The thing that is really...
The Oxford Murders is a dark crime movie that convinces with a charming location, many mathematic mysteries and puzzles and several twists in the end of the movie that you simply can't see coming. I really liked the unusual technical approach and the...
"Two Guns" is a very entertaining action movie that mixes brutal and tension filled moments on one side with a lot of addicting dry humour on the other side. The chemistry between the two outstanding main actors Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg is...
“Brave New World” has always been a mixed bag for me. Many songs on the album were still written with Blaze Bayley in the band. If I take into consideration how great Blaze Bayley’s first solo record “Silicon Messiah” turned out to be, I would have adored...
Cet article parlera d’un sport que j’adore autant que le hockey sur glace, mais qui est quelque peu négligé au Canada et au Québec: le soccer. Pourtant, depuis cette année, ce sport mondial a connu une importante montée en qualité et en visibilité au...
