Ghosts I: A Disturbing Journey It's rather surprising that a band as unconventional, experimental and courageous as Nine Inch Nails was ever able to achieve mainstream success but the unique band around controversial art director, performer and producer...

"Le Grand Guignol" is the name of a famous theatre in Paris that is known for its grisly horror shows and also the name of this outstanding avant-garde metal band from the beautiful Luxembourg. In comparison to other avant-garde bands like Adversus, UneXpect...
I always thought that "The Last Supper" would be my favourite album of Grave Digger but after paying closer attention to it predecessor, I must admit that "Rheingold" is slightly better as it has even more to offer. Maybe this album needs some time to...
This album is in the top 3 of my favourite metal albums of all time. In this moment, I would class this album on the second position just after The Vision Bleak's "Carpathia - A dramatic poem". I personally think that 2005 has been the greatest metal...
April Rain is a post-rock quartet from Saint Petersburg that has just released its eighth release in only five years with the stunning Mirror of Ether. The album includes ten songs with a total running time of fifty-nine minutes. Right from the start,...
Powervice are one of many retro heavy metal bands that are clearly influenced by the hard rock and emerging heavy metal music of the late seventies and the early eighties. They are as solid as genre colleagues such as Bullet, Vanderbuyst, White Wizzard...
I will skip the long introduction as any metal head already knows Amon Amarth and might have his or her own opinion about it. Let's get this straight: I think that the image and style of the band is rather silly and closed minded but I liked some of their...
''The Suspect'' is a South Korean action-thriller in the vein of several contemporary spy movies like ''The Berlin File''. The movie tells the story of a North Korean defector who has once been a top special forces agent. After years of loyal service...
"Adrenalin" is a quite rare to find live album of "Die apokalyptischen Reiter" that play an intriguing mixture of Stockholm melodic death metal and folk rock or medieval metal. This works really well during their concerts as this disc proves. The interaction...
I discovered Mongolian folk rock band Hanggai back in 2012 when I was particularly interested in Chinese culture, history and music. I managed to purchase a rare copy of their excellent 2010 record He Who Travels Far. I never expected to get the chance...
One more crime... What can be worse than faceless and repetitive power metal boredom as the band presented us on their last release "No Sacrifice, No Victory"? This album brings you the answer: faceless and directionless boredom. HammerFail had released...
Black Bear is an experimental drama that essentially offers three different scenarios. The real scenario is actually quite short and incomplete as it revolves around a female filmmaker who seeks for creative inspiration at a rural retreat. The second...
Edguy had already reached a standout quality at such a low age with their major label debut album which is "Kingdom of Madness" and this brilliant album justifies the band's rise to fame. The songs are surprisingly complex, professional and diversified....
Four years after the negatively received debut record Poser Holocaust, Floridian thrash metal quintet Thrash or Die released its sophomore output Melting Your Skull. Few things have changed in those four years which means that those who already despised...
A purpose that hasn't aged very well Oshie to Tabi Suru Otoko which translates to The Traveler with the Pasted Rag Picture refers to a novel by Japanese horror author Ranpo Edogawa and is the title of Ningen-Isu's second compilation. This anthology picks...
To be honest, this movie is quite empty. It lacks of an addicting or coherent story. The shy romantic intrigue is not convincing or emotional at all. There is a lack of tension in many moments of the movie that has quite a couple of lengths. On the other...
Usually I’m not the biggest fan of old school thrash black metal in the key of early Bathory, Celtic Frost or Venom and prefer more progressive stuff like Absu, for example. This first demo recording from a young band hailing from Israel is though actually...
Nine Treasures is one of many recent Chinese folk metal bands that are influenced by Mongolian culture, history, and language. The band is clearly heavier than Hanggan, a little bit more accessible and joyful than Tengger Cavalry, and more traditional...
I discovered this record by pure coincidence as I recently walked into my local record store and found this album somewhere hidden in the metal section. I thought that the cover was beautiful and that the songs and their lengths sounded promising to me...
I was a fan of the first movie and as I often know that the sequels of good movies are often quite weak, I didn't expect much from this movie. In fact, this one is one of the better sequels and I recommend you to give it a chance and to watch is, even...
"Dark Sanctuary" deliver a very relaxing and calm piece of dark ambient music with a reduced number and variety of instruments that focuses on an atmosphere that perfectly fits to the title that suggests a melancholic empire. The band's sound is neither...
Suite à mon trimestre intensif en cours, en découvertes et en émotions, j’ai fini ma troisième année universitaire avec un stage de consolidation des compétences en enseignement au secondaire de cinq semaines et demi. Après deux stages très enrichissants...
"Korrozia Metalla" delivers an energizing piece of fast Thrash Metal on this first record. The band uses sharp and speedy riffs, a couple of great solos and short but effective and catchy choruses. Songs like the fast paced and very aggressive "Motorocker"...
Many people describe this album as the Russian "Powerslave" and this is partly true because this album is the Russian masterpiece of true traditional heavy metal and contains some of the most important and memorable songs of Russian metal history such...
