This is now already the fifth part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. When I bought this movie at a low price a couple of days ago I expected some entertaining gore horror movie and the short length of only seventy-six...

A Nightmare on Elm Street is not directly a remake of the classic movie but rather a story that is similar to the events featured in the original film with its own separate continuity. The movie takes a look on what has made Freddy Krueger the monster...
After the somewhat lovelessly compilated "Home At Last" EP that featured three rehashed live songs, a good title track and two rather generic and powerless songs, I was a little bit secptical concerning the release of this new full length album that mostly...
Playful, dynamic and beautiful as the rabbit on the cover artwork Hoochie Koo is the thirteenth studio album by Japanese rock and metal trio Ningen Isu. It's the second release in the group's most consistent line-up that still exists as I'm writing this...
Identity is a very well done American psycho thriller that convinces with a very solid acting, a couple of interesting characters and a very dark atmosphere as the whole movie plays during a dark and rainy night. The locations and the general story offer...
"Solomon Kane" is your usual predictable fantasy movie filled with a whole lot of stereotypes. Just take a look on the characters. You have the lonesome warrior and lost son that has to become a hero. You have his severe old father that has to face the...
It is not always easy to be an Edguy fan. After the incredible masterpiece "Hellfire club", they deliver us a cheesy but addicting pop song and this EP with a really horrible cover artwork. Many metal heads laughed about it and pointed at the fans and...
"The After-Dinner Mysteries" is apparently a quite popular Japanese series but you don't need to know that to enjoy this vivid movie. This very Japanese over-the-top film mixes elements of different genres such as dramas, slapstick comedies or old-fashioned...
It may sound strange to you, but in my opinion the bonus song is the best one on the whole album. I'm sorry for those ones who bought only the regular edition without this song and the poster. But does that mean that the rest of the album is a deception?...

This is a solid drama about true events that happened in a working and correction camp of young criminals on a lost island of Norway. The story tells the acts of rebellion, vengeance and escape of young males in 1915 when a paedophile supervisor comes...
This movie is a remake from a film of the same name released back in 1960 but both movies are quite different and don't have the same story line. In the original feature, the housemaid seduces a composer and menaces his family until a bloody ending. In...
"Monument of Metal - The Very Best of Anvil'' has only one single purpose: introducing the band to those who haven't known them before and those who have only occasionally listened to them. This compilation is a good way to get introduced to the band...
As a matter of fact, Chernobyl Diaries is another rather generic horror movie with only a few truly shocking scenes and a quite predictable ending. The only thing that makes this release a little bit more special than other horror movies of the same kind...
Griffith's "The Birth Of A Nation" is very particular movie. From a purely technical point of view, this movie is quite epic, experimental and mind-blowing for the time when it has been created. True fans and experts of cinema can't pass around this movie...
"Jud Süss" is without a doubt one of the most racist and radical propaganda movies and has been banned in several countries. Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels described the movie once as the absolute antisemitism movie. The movie is indeed filled...
This is the second part of my little review series: Movies that are way better than you expect. "Steel trap" seems at first sight to be another ordinary psychological thriller or slasher movie in the shadows of the great "The cube", "Mind Hunters" and...
When I first listened to this album I thought that it was a good album but the more I listened to it, the more I took the time to discover it attentively, the more I realized that this is somewhat the underrated gem in the discography of the most important...
If you liked the band's first two records, you will also happen to like this record as the Scottish pirate metal musicians didn't change their formula at all or tried out some experiments. I must admit that this is a rather negative point because the...
Saint Ange is a slow paced and atmospheric French horror movie that has got quite a lot of negative critics. Even though the critics are not completely wrong and have some valuable facts, I think that the movie was at least acceptable if not somewhat...
"The Spirit" is a visually very stunning superhero movie based on a film noir atmosphere. I would even go as far and say that the visual factor is even more developed than the comparable and overall better movies "Max Payne" and "Sin City". The movie...
