We can't really talk about a "single collection" as there is only the stuff from the "King of fools" and "Superheroes" EPs as well as the "Lavatory love machine" single. The band even lost the exclusive song "Reach out" of the "Lavatory love machine"...
Jisatsu Manyuaru or The Suicide Manual is a very atmospheric and slow paced Japanese movie with some surreal elements. Even though the movie is rather cheap, the simplistic approach fits well to the topic. The camera work is cold and simple, the lighting...
John Carter is a solid and entertaining science-fiction movie. It convinces with a good dose of visually stunning special effects for the movie theatres without being too visual and overwhelming as other recent blockbusters such as "Avatar". Another strong...
It has been quite a while ago since I have witnessed such a great movie in the cinemas. This is easily the best American movie since Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island". "The Grey" has so many memorable and touching scenes, an incredible and authentic...
I don't know much about the Hellraiser series but this movie is surely one of the best surreal suspense flicks I have seen in a while. The story is quite twisted and you have many little scary scenes in strange visions of the main character, weird flashbacks...
Schandmaul are a really energizing live band and have some really talented musicians in their rows. Their lyrics are mostly interesting and talk about old German folk tales, “Märchen” or historical events and sometimes invented stories by the band of...
The first part of "Once Upon A Time In China" is an amazing mixture of slapstick comedy, brilliant martial arts action and a big shot of Chinese culture, history and life. Be sure to watch the full movie and not an old shortened version as this movie...
Usually, greatest hits albums are quite unnecessary for fans of the band but that isn't the case with this compilation album. First of all, the band re-recorded some of their old classics that had a really awful quality back in the day. "Hiemali tempore"...
While the band’s last studio album was rather a funny and entertaining hard rock album, the band chose to continue this direction, but headed for a more epic and darker hard rock album this time. That’s why most of the songs on this album a more serious...
Suspiria isn't only a remake of Dario Argento's movie but an expanded reimagination of the legendary Italian horror movie. The film is set in Berlin during the German Autumn and follows the story lines of a young American dancer who arrives at a dance...
"King of fools" was a very well done EP, but this single or EP hasn't the same quality. A part of the very solid and funny hard rock driven title track, you can find a couple of acoustic songs on this very calm EP that has nothing to do with power metal...
Howdy and yeehaw! I decided to spend the sixteenth day of my epic summer trip in Calgary and visit the famous Calgary Stampede which bills itself as ''The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth''. It was almost a culture shock to visit Calgary as I got the impression...
"Liam" has been chosen as a third single from the masterpiece "Mein rasend Herz" because the band represented the land Thuringia with this song during the German television event Bundesvision Song Contest. They played a mixture of the German and the original...
Ladies and gentlemen, On the twenty-fourth day of my epic summer vacation, I spent one last complete day in Winnipeg. I went shopping at St. Vital Centre, hiked along Seine River, visited parts of the Royal Canadian Mint and explored some parts of downtown...
A long time before bands such as Therion or Apocalyptica made their groundbreaking symphonic or opera metal masterpieces, a long time before symphonic gothic metal bands such as Nightwish got into mainstream, a long time before bands such as Metallica...
Ladies and gentlemen! After four delays, Ottawa's new Confederation Line finally opened on September 14th 2019. Last night, I had the opportunity to take the train twice when I went to the NHL game between the St. Louis Blues and the Ottawa Senators....
The record of the band Onmyo-Za attracted me because of the stylish band photo, the unusual cover artwork and many positive experiences with diversified, stunning and sometimes surreal Japanese metal bands from classic groups such as Loudness or X Japan...
“A pale horse named death” is a band with a very cool name and a great album cover that plays first of all a melancholic mixture of gothic and doom metal in the key of “Type 0 Negative”. Even though the influence of this band is omnipresent and weighs...
I really like the first two albums of the project and also quite much "The scarecrow" and was highly looking forward for the upcoming release. I had a somewhat critical attitude face to the release of two albums at the same time because I felt that one...
Adverus is a band that doesn't sound like anything else. Their sound is very intellectual, diversified and sometimes almost schizophrenic. The band is mostly influenced by the Gothic genre with its dark and emotional lyrics, its harmonic male vocals,...
Ayreon is a very unique and unusual band in the metal universe that seems sometimes too abstract to be easy to digest or to approach. It took some time and patience to get deeper into this project that takes its main influences from the progressive music...
This is a very emotional, gore and philosophical psycho thriller coming from Thailand that is well played by diversified actors and that has a couple of memorable ideas that lead to a surprising end even though the last sequence of the movie left me somewhat...
In my other reviews, I described the awful and ordinary first part of "Elements" as an ordinary ham sandwich, while the upcoming self-titled "Stratovarius" and especially the faceless and weak "Polaris" could partially be called shit sandwiches. In other...
Nine Inch Nails' third Ghosts record consisting yet again of nine tracks varying between one minute and a half and four minutes in length is different from the first two parts in this unusual series. The first part was unconventionally experimental while...
This first single of the new album "Saengerkrieg" is a rather calm and melodic folk rock song with a catchy chorus. The album version and the shortened and unnecessary single version are included on this single. What I am missing in this song is the straightness...
