This album is the only album in the whole Voivod discography which isn't an improvement or a change in style in comparison to the previous album. This is a very fast, aggressive thrash metal approach with some dark, hypnotically and almost industrial...
The first album after the departure of bass guitar player "Blacky" and the last album before the departure of singer "Piggy" has nothing of a lack of inspiration, motivation or energy that many other metal albums had at this time. The band is still in...
Well, first of all, I would like to tell you that I am really interested in history, especially the North American History. I'm a history and geographic teacher and I'm also learning innu-aimun and watch Inuit movies. When I read about this movie, I was...
I am huge fan of horror movies and I also like most of the music stuff that Rob Zombie does. As some people called this one a "cult movie", I gave it a try... Well, you see me very disappointed now. This movie is just joking on some real great and original...
Social critic showing the melancholic misery of a poor young black entrepreneur and his sweet son - well, this cliché is nothing new as we take a look at the number of brilliant novels or movies that have been made around and about this topic. Will Smith...
After releasing one of the very best entries in the franchise with the sinister Zatoichi's Revenge, Zatoichi and the Doomed Man is one of the weakest films about the blind masseur. It tells how Zatoichi gets arrested for illegal gambling and meets a prisoner...
Six years after a disappointing sophomore output and ten years after its unique first strike, Russian sextet Kartikeya is back with a third record after numerous digital single releases. Samudra is a vast improvement over the predecessor but not as consistent...
Are you seeking a remedy against sleepless nights? You won't need any prescriptions to solve your problem. You simply need to watch Blade Runner 2049. Almost everything that could be wrong with a movie is wrong with this one. To start on a positive note,...
Silence is a quite ambitious project by star director Martin Scorsese and it isn't a surprise that this film has failed at the box office. It is particularly long with a running time of one hundred sixty-one minutes. The topic of Jesuits resisting persecution...
Down, Wicked & No Good is a surprise release by In Flames that features four cover songs inspired by original material from Alice in Chains, Chris Isaac, Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails. The band collaborated with Depeche Mode and even took over the...
Thrash or Die are the Manowar of thrash metal: stereotypical image, stupid lyrics and repetitive music unite in a cringe-worthy manner. Even though the band is terrible, it isn't as bad as some people claim. Thrash or Die do what they do with great energy...
DreadOut is an Indonesian independent survival horror game that convinces with its cultural, mythological and spiritual references, refreshingly grounded and sympathetic characters and an omnipresent gloomy atmosphere. Even though the game received average...
This is the ultimate apocalypse, the dystopian genocide or at least the vision of it. Dark, eerie, mechanically thrilling industrial sounds and weird voices suck the listener into an infinite black hole of despair, into a strange universe - the universe...
I've really expected a lot of this film. First of all, I wanted to see the movie because I was expecting a dark, interesting atmosphere, some unique characters (the name of Dennis Hopper sounded promising to me) and some weird and interesting ways to...
This movie is well described with one word: "depression". The whole atmosphere of the film is just depressive, melancholic, sadistic, boring and senseless. Everything is grey, everyone is unhappy, everything is going wrong. Concerning the atmosphere,...
I can't understand the brilliant and positive critics all around this movie. Has anyone seen the Asian action movies which Tarantion want to honour? Or is everybody thinking that one can't give an bad review to a film that has been directed by someone...
When I saw the preview of the film, I thought that I would watch a horror movie with a dark atmosphere, in an interesting place where many weird characters live isolated from the modern way of life. Well, I know that it was Shyamalan's intention to do...
The Quebeckers have a very special kind of humour. They have a lot of comedians, though there are just about 7 million people in the belle province. They like a lot to laugh, but for someone who isn't a Quebecker and doesn't have their style of humour,...
I am a huge fan of Godzilla since my early childhood. If read many books, played many games, collected many cards or little figures or whatever and watched many Japanese movies about this legacy... And then, I watched this American remake. They should...
First of all, I am someone who is very interested in history and especially in the Cuban revolution and the life of Ernesto "Che" Guevara, so I expected a lot of this movie divided in two parts... Well, I am very disappointed about the result. First of...
After a break of six years, the reunited band comes back with this album and has once again completely changed its style. On this album, the band approaches a stoner or rock and roll sound with some alternative elements. The album begins very straight...
It is not easy to write an objective review about your favourite album of all times, but I will try to do this here. “Carpathia – A dramatic poem” is grandly arranged conceptual album about a young man who travels into the woods of Carpathia to visit...
Happy Death Day tells the story of the condescending, dismissive and self-centred student Theresa who gets killed by a masked assailant on her birthday. However, she doesn't die and wakes up in the morning of the same day. Theresa quickly realizes that...
The new direction of Dimmu Borgir is quite clear. They go away from their black metal roots and focus on a more symphonic style which is comparable to classic and dramatic movie scores. This must not be a bad thing. Other Scandinavian bands like "Therion"...
"Two Guns" is a very entertaining action movie that mixes brutal and tension filled moments on one side with a lot of addicting dry humour on the other side. The chemistry between the two outstanding main actors Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg is...
