The Retreat is a Canadian horror movie shot in the beautiful province of Ontario. It tells the story of a lesbian couple from Toronto that wants to spend a romantic weekend in the woods. However, the hosts of their cabin have mysteriously vanished upon...
If musical perfection exists, than it exists on this record. Amorphis lead us in an amorphous form on mushroom clouds and crimson waves to a musical paradise. This album is an "eargasm". It's a combination of everything I love about music. Each time I...
Perfect Days is a slice-of-life combining comedy and drama elements directed by renowned German filmmaking veteran Wim Wenders and starring a selection of extraordinary Japanese actresses and actors. Shot in only seventeen days in Tokyo, this movie shows...
This cult movie is a must see for any fan of humorous movies even though it won't beat "The naked gun" series or the Monty Python movies such as "Life of Brian". It's maybe on the same level as the "Vacation" series minus the cultural part of those ones....
This third and last part of the vengeance trilogy that began with "Sympathy for Mister Vengeance" and "Oldboy" leaves me once again breathless because of the brilliant acting and a very intense story. What really contributes to the success of this third...
"Premonition" seems to be a rather ordinary psycho thriller in the beginning that deals with paranormal activities, family dramas and destiny. The actors are very credible and add a lot to the dark and desperate atmosphere of the movie that has no lengths...
I bought this movie at a low price because I thought that the plot idea was intriguing and because Val Kilmer was starring in this flick. In the end, many great ideas and a lot of potential wasn't well used. The title seems to underline the importance...
I enjoyed watching the two part television series about the Colditz Castle even though I have known better escape movies such as "Papillon" or "The Shawshank Redemption" and even though the melodramatic love and treachery stories were rather predictable...
This movie is a horrific ride through human decay and the sense of vengeance. The movie is emotional, philosophical and the characters are authentic, unique and very touching. On the other hand, the movie is not only a profound drama but also a very haunting...
This movie is another very good psycho thriller from Japan that convinces with a weird and intriguing story and a strange and haunting character that is closely related to brutal murders that are happening where seemingly normal people kill in the most...
This third part of the hilarious series is in my opinion the best movie. For the first time, there are several parallel stories, essentially the ones about the alien invasion and signs in the corn fields as well as the story of a deadly video tape. This...
First of all, let me tell you that this movie has no connection to the first part of "Yeogo goedam" and has also a quite different style. While the first movie was a psychological suspense movie with some creepy elements, this movie is rather a drama...
This movie is one of the most frightening movies I have ever seen. Before I start my review, let me suggest you to watch this flick in the cinemas or at least with a modern home cinema equipment to be capable to appreciate all the noisy sounds, creepy...
Wallop is a German heavy metal quartet that existed for four years in the eighties, releasing two demos and one full length effort. Thirty-one years after its initial break-up, the band rose from its ashes and has been on an impressive run ever since,...
"Akasia" is a fairly underrated mixture of a family drama and psycho thriller from South Korea. It is a really slow paced movie but the actors all deliver an amazing job and are always authentic so that the long introduction to a more and more terrifying...
The third part of this unique police movie series presents us a weaker story line than the second movie but a few great surprises. Some really great and unique actors from the second movie, as the rebellious punk Zed and the shy and rather conservative...
This movie is easily the best German movie I have seen in the last three years. It is a haunting and atmospheric drama with some science-fiction elements, an eerie touch of suspense and even psychological horror as well as some action scenes. This flick...
This Korean movie is one of the roughest and most mind blowing flicks I have ever seen. It's complex and twisted with and plays a lot with illusions. Lynch and Cronenberg seem to be easy entertainment compared to this brilliant plot. This masterpiece...
After a rather superficial first part, the second movie of the Scream series has been a step forward. The scarface killer is more intelligent, more brutal and more mysterious and a couple of surprises keep you hanging on until the end of the movie. The...
When I first watched this movie, there were so many different genre elements that I wasn't sure what this movie would be like. It had some emotional drama bits and pieces, some humorous slapstick passages and focuses on the clash between Korean and Japanese...
This movie attracted me because of its original black and white expressionism style and the topic of Iran's recent history. The flick has autobiographical influences and tells the story of a young girl growing up in a country filled with tension, shattered...
This movie shows us the first signs of decline of the series. The jokes are getting more and more childish and one-dimensional and there are many things and scenes we have already seen in the first three movies. There are no new interesting characters...
This movie is another very atmospheric film noir from Asia that surprises with a weird main idea and a haunting conclusion while the acting is very emotional and gives a really authentic touch to the characters. Especially the main villain is completely...
This intriguing psycho thriller really offers nothing quite interesting or new to any one that has seen "XIII", "The Bourne Trilogy", "Wrong identity" and similar movies. A man suffers from amnesia and is looking for his identity and it is quite quickly...
"Two Guns" is a very entertaining action movie that mixes brutal and tension filled moments on one side with a lot of addicting dry humour on the other side. The chemistry between the two outstanding main actors Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg is...
