"Kronik" is an interesting compilation album divided into three parts: three disc jockey remixes of some more recent Voivod songs, four rare songs from special editions, b-sides or Japanese version of their last albums and finally four live songs recorded...
I really have a lot of difficulties to appreciate modern movies about vampires as the "Underworld" saga, the "Nochnoy dozor: Night watch" and its sequels or the Blade saga. I'm a fan of old and sometimes even modern horror movies ("30 days of night" is...
Attention: This thing is not a simple movie, it is an art - surreal art! And surreal art may disturb, irritate or make people commit suicide! This film may be difficult to watch for normal popcorn cinema movie watchers, but for people who are ready to...
The Salvation is a Danish western and while this might sound surprising at first sight, The Salvation is easily the best western I have seen in many years and a solid candidate for western of the decade or even of the century. The story revolves around...
To me, this album is one of the best ones that Crematory had ever done in their career. It has dark vibes, a really eerie atmosphere, a very unique mood, many songs touching different styles and almost just one catchy song after the other. The listener...
The first time I heard about Mely was when my father wanted to go on a concert of the German Gothic Metal band "Xandria" and those guys from Austria where opening for them. To have an idea what this band would sound like, we found "God nowhere" on a sampler...
This movie is a quite watchful and atmospheric psycho thriller (rather than a horror movie) that presents nothing really new but does a quite good job and may not only satisfy the genre fans with its dark vibes and twisted ending. Many critics say that...
I was a fan of the first movie and as I often know that the sequels of good movies are often quite weak, I didn't expect much from this movie. In fact, this one is one of the better sequels and I recommend you to give it a chance and to watch is, even...
After several line-up changes, Voivod continued as a trio and explored a completely new territory. From a warmer and progressive rock sound, they went to a cold and industrial sound which is very uneasy to listen to. Heavily shredding and dissonant guitars,...
I really like a few studio albums of this band, especially "Blackwater Park" and "Watershed", so I bought this slipcase compilation by Koch Records with three studio albums and this exclusive live CD. That's why I will just talk about what I hear and...
Let me first tell you that this album has nothing to do with metal, it is simply a progressive rock album. But that's not a bad thing at all. The main problem of this album is, as strange as it sounds, its perfection. Let me explain you this antithesis....
Even if this film has received a lot of bad or ordinary reviews, I may convince you to give it a chance. First of all, the whole interesting suspense story takes place in a very exotic and unusual place which creates an atmosphere of frosty isolation....
To really appreciate this movie, you should like Russia, the legendary Transsiberian train, Russian culture and history and the Nordic landscapes which create a quite charming and historical atmosphere. That's what it's all about, because the story is...
I watched this film because of the well known actors and the interesting story involving a Russian background which interests me a lot. But except of a shocking opening scene, a nice fight scene in the sauna and as always a charming Naomi Watts (though...
"Christening of fire" was the first Russian metal album I ever bought along side with "Chimera" when I was in Saint Petersburg in 2006 it just blew me away. Nowadays, it is really hard to find a really good heavy metal album in the original sense of it....
The thing that has always fascinated me about Korpiklaani is how easily the band combine melancholic and uplifting soundscapes. This can happen in separate songs that complement one another perfectly but also in single tracks with concise and fluid song...
Don't get me wrong, I really like the studio albums of Moonspell and I have even seen them in concert and I have liked their performance very much. That's why I got so shocked when I listened to this album. This album lacks of everything that a good live...
This film is one of the best ones of the year 2009! First of all, it creates a charming and interesting atmosphere in beautiful words and images flavoured with great special effects in an ancient London. Second, the main actors are doing a great job,...
This is one of the best horror or psycho thrillers that I have seen in a while and also one of the best Canadian/Quebecker movies in the last years. The movie is based on the novel by Patrick Senécal, his novels "Evil words" (in french: "Sur le seuil")...
After the atmospheric and eerie masterpiece "Pray", Crematory come back with a new record not even two years after the last one. Having bought this album in its very interesting limited box set (1000 kits worldwide, just like the two previous box sets)...
I really like this album. After the brilliant "Lemuria/Sirius B" double album and the still solid "Gothic Kabbalah" which had its lengths and strengths, the band is now back and presents their best album since the innovating "Theli". But attention, dear...
This live recording has a really bad demo quality (sometimes, you can't even distinguish the instruments in the middle of the recording) but is very authentic and straight. There is much more energy on this recording than on the future live albums and...
Divine:Zero play a very technical and sometimes progressive or even epic Melodic Death Metal in the style of the old Gotheburg school. They are not even afraid to include some thrash metal elements and even some reduced keyboards in their sound. That...
The Haunted, also known as The Tag-Along, is a highly entertaining Taiwanese horror movie. An elderly woman from a vast apartment complex has mysteriously disappeared and her worried best friend starts having strange visions and hearing weird noises....
