There is a little parking area for about twenty vehicles along the highway. Walking down to the wonderful Overlander Falls takes roughly fifteen minutes. The trail is a little bit steep, so make sure to tread carefully. The magnificent views of the falls are however certainly worth the effort. The trail continues westwards towards Mount Robson Visitor Centre for about forty-five minutes. The latter section of the trail is peaceful and quiet as most tourists tend to avoid to explore it and are missing out on an adventurous trail and magnificent views.il y a 10 minutesRearguard Falls Provincial Park along Yellowhead Highway is definitely worth a detour and a stop. Walking down to the falls takes about ten minutes. The different views will certainly make you want to stay for a while. This location is only a ten-minute walk away from the nearby motels and hotels. The meals taste decent and prices are acceptable as well. Customer service can at times be a little bit slow and distant. They are a little bit old-fashioned but serve their purpose for a short stay. Breakfast is very basic but many hotels don't offer them anymore at all. Parking spots are situated right in front of your rooms. The next gas station and highway are only two minutes away.il y a 4 heuresLC Gunn Park offers decent views of Fraser River and Prince George. There are quite a few trails intersecting that make it somewhat difficult to figure out where you are and where you should go. A map at the park's entrance or even a pamphlet with information about the trails would be a helpful addition to this location.il y a 4 heuresVanderhoof Tourism and Cultural Centre is a great place to stop at while on a road trip between Terrace and Prince George. The tourism and cultural centre looks clean, modern and sharp. The surrounding buildings however bring Vanderhoof's past back to life and are worth a short visit.il y a 5 heuresNorthwood Park is a great place to stop at while traveling on Yellowhead Highway. You can walk along Bulkley River for a while and take some stunning photographs. There are a few gazebos and little trails along the river. You can enjoy the beauty of nature despite the nearby Yellowhead Highway. Parking spots are however fairly limited here and the access road is somewhat narrow.il y a 5 heuresTyhee Lake Provincial Park is a great spot for boating and swimming in the summer time. It's only located about five minutes away from Yellowhead Highway but this area is nevertheless calm and not crowded at all. There are plenty of parking spots and decent restroom facilities in the area.il y a 5 heuresSmither's Esso is a gas station that convinces with reasonable prices, decent customer service and a satisfying selection of drinks and meals. It's a great place to stop when traveling from Terrace to Prince George or beyond.il y a 5 heuresCow Bay Marina in Prince Rupert is an excellent spot for looking at different types of boats, ships and yachts as well as for enjoying the magnificent natural landscapes surrounding this location.il y a 5 heuresPacific Mariners Memorial Park is a wonderful park with one beautiful monument and many other attractions such as little artworks, benches and playgrounds. The views of the surrounding landscapes are also worth a detour.il y a 5 heuresButze Rapids Trail is the most beautiful trail in the entire area. It leads you from Butze Rapids to many different bays. You are going to walk through the rainforest's magnificent vegetation. Walking the entire loop should take about ninety minutes. Make sure to be prepared for a humid and even wet environment when visiting.il y a 5 heuresNorth Pacific Cannery National Historic Site is a wonderful museum that can be visited on a tour or even individually. The location has been kept in great shape and brings back the area's past. It's interesting to discover more about the people from many different cultures who were living here for work. The surrounding landscapes are also absolutely magnificent. You are guaranteed to take numerous beautiful photographs. The only reason why this excellent museum doesn't get the perfect rating is the fact that Skeena Drive, the road leading from and to this site, is extremely rough and even damaged one of my vehicle's wheels.il y a 5 heuresThe park around Port Edward District Office is very beautiful. You can find a few gazebos, a monument, a playground, beautiful vegetation and great views of the surrounding landscapes. This location is certainly worth a stop after a long ride from Terrace to Prince Rupert.il y a 5 heuresPrudhomme Lake Provincial Park offers stunning views of the lake and the nearby forests. The location is situated right along Yellowhead Highway which makes it easily accessible but also somewhat crowded in the summer.il y a 5 heuresKitsumkalum TEMPO Gas Bar is located just outside of Terrace to the west towards Prince Rupert. The convenience store is big and clean and offers a great selection of drinks and foods. Customer service is very helpful, quick and sympathetic. Prices are fairly reasonable as well.il y a 6 heuresRadley Park is a campground in Kitimat. It's located a ten-minute drive from the downtown sector. The views of the forest and the river are great. Sadly, the ongoing construction on the nearby bridge is both rather noisy and also an unpleasant sight. I would suggest visiting Radley Park in a few years from here to be able to enjoy some tranquillity.il y a 6 heuresGiant Spruce Park obviously impresses with its ancient and gigantic trees. The road to the park is rather rough and parking spots are somewhat limited. The different trails are somewhat confusing and could benefit from some more regular maintenance.il y a 6 heuresCity Centre Mall in downtown Kitimat looks like a shopping mall that is still stuck in the eighties. Its architecture reminds of the mall in abandoned community Kitsault. Many stores are currently empty and only about half of the mall actually consists of open shops. The greatest element of this mall is the small Asian restaurant that offers great food that isn't available in similar locations. Locals should definitely go there and support this little business.il y a 6 heuresCentennial Park is a beautiful park in downtown Kitimat with a great fountain, much vegetation and a few benches. It's a great place to relax at in the summer months. The park is situated right across the mall where you can find numerous parking spots.il y a 6 heuresKitimat River Provincial Park is actually as small visitor centre next to a small church with a tiny park with gazebos and statues in front of these buildings. It's a nice spot to stop at for visitors who are coming to Kitimat for the very first time.il y a 20 heuresA&W in Terrace, British Columbia, convinces with quick customer service, great foods and drinks as well as excellent opening hours for travelers, tourists and locals alike. This might be the best place in town to grab a late dinner after an intense day.il y a 20 heuresHoliday Inn Express & Suites Terrace, an IHG Hotel is a great place to stay at in Terrace. Customer service is friendly and helpful. Hotel rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is absolutely outstanding. Prices are moderate to elevated. The location is excellent as well since you are only forty-five minutes away from Kitimat and two hours from Prince Rupert.il y a 20 heuresNass River Bridge has recently been reconstructed and hasn't looked too beautiful during that long process. However, the views of Nass River and the surrounding landscapes are certainly amazing. There is also a beautiful little rest stop on the northern side of the bridge.il y a 20 heuresMeziadin Lake Provincial Park is a wonderful spot for camping, fishing and swimming in the summer. This location is only five minutes away from a big convenience store and about forty-five minutes from idyllic small town Stewart as well as the border to Alaska. The only downside is that this beautiful spot can be quite crowded in the summer. If you truly want to experience the beauty of isolated wilderness, you might find even better spots heading north towards Dease Lake and beyond.il y a 20 heuresEstuary Boardwalk is one of the most beautiful places to visit in all of Northern British Columbia. Visiting the entire area, taking some photographs and enjoying a break in the middle of nature takes at least one hour. The numerous excellent reviewers aren't wrong, this location is certainly worth a lengthy detour.il y a 20 heuresSilverado Cafe & Pizza Parlour is an absolutely amazing spot for having dinner in Stewart. The local pizza and poutine are absolutely outstanding. The decorations make you feel right at home. Customer service is helpful and polite. Make sure to stop here to get a hearty meal in a unique location.il y a 20 heuresStewart's Petro-Canada store has fairly limited opening hours that aren't convenient for locals and tourists alike. The bear statue is quite a sight and beautifully crafted. The nearby bridge and river are also absolutely stunning. Anyone planning on visiting this area should take a detour to Stewart since it exemplifies the splendours of Canada's Pacific Coast amazingly.il y a 20 heuresDriving on Glacier Highway and witnessing the outstanding sights of Bear Glacier Provincial Park is worth a detour to Stewart on its own. Make sure to stop your car and take some memorable photographs. The surrounding landscapes are particularly beautiful. Beware of wild black bears in the area. There are a small parking lot and some restroom facilities nearby. There are a few limited camping spots but also a few picnic tables and a ramp to the lake. Since there was no restaurant in Dease Lake, I actually bought a…il y a un jourStikine River is a wonderful sight when driving from Dease Lake to Stewart or the other way around. Make sure to stop at the bridge to take some splendid photographs and let the beauty of nature sink in.il y a un jourDease Lake Super A Foods is a small convenience and grocery store. You can find some drinks and snacks here that you can enjoy on the small patio. The only thing missing would be a tiny restaurant for visitors.il y a un jourDease Lake's Petro-Canada offers gas for elevated but still reasonable prices. Customer service is helpful. The location isn't fancy but quite convenient.il y a un jourArriving at Northway Motor Inn after the challenging ride from Watson Lake to Dease Lake feels absolutely amazing. The hotel rooms are big, clean and cozy. Customer service is helpful and polite. Prices are reasonable for such an isolated region. The only downside is that it's tough to get a hearty breakfast anywhere in this area.il y a 5 joursAllen's Lookout is certainly worth a detour and a stop. The views of Liard River are absolutely astonishing, especially at sunset in the summer. There is enough room for cars and a picnic but there are no hiking trails to be found.il y a 5 joursSmith River Falls are certainly worth a detour from Alaska Highway. The road to the parking lot takes roughly fifteen minutes and is quite rough. However, the trail is rather decent and you can make it to the falls within fifteen minutes. Make sure to walk carefully since there have been some mudslides and erosion in the area.il y a 5 joursLiard River Suspension Bridge is certainly worth a short stop and detour. The views of the bridge and the river are truly inspiring. The trails are however rather rough and improvised and there are plenty of mosquitoes around in the summertime.il y a 5 joursStrawberry Flats Provincial Campground is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in all of British Columbia. The campground is situated right next to Alaska Highway. Up next, the views of Muncho Lake are absolutely outstanding. There is plenty of wildlife to admire in and around the lake as well. The only inconvenience is that this place is rather busy with tourists in the summertime.il y a 5 joursToad River Recreation Site is a wonderful little spot along Alaska Highway. The views of the river and surrounding mountains are amazing. However, there are no trails, the road is rough and the rocky terrain is not the best for camping.il y a 5 joursTetsa River Regional Park offers a small campground by the river that is easily accessible and only a few minutes away from the highway. While access is convenient, there are other nearby parks that offer more tranquillity in the wilderness.il y a 5 joursA small gravel road leads from the highway to Muskwa River Recreation Site. The view of the surrounding river and creeks is absolutely stunning. This place is rather isolated and helps you become one with nature. However, there are no amenities to be found and the road can be rough at times.il y a une semaineParker Lake Recreation Site is quite rustic and simplistic. There is room for a few vehicles, a trash bin and a little dock. That's pretty much everything. The view of the lake is nice but there are more spectacular sites nearby.il y a une semaineService at this Petro Canada location in Fort Nelson has been particularly helpful, polite and quick. Prices are steep but this comes with the isolated territory.il y a une semaineBeaver Lake Recreation Site is situated right next to Highway 77. On the positive side, the lake looks beautiful and visitors are fully immersed into the beauty of nature. I was able to observe a female moose nearby. On the downside, the road from the highway to the lake is extremely rough and certainly needs some maintenance. Parking spots are fairly limited. Restroom facilities are very simplistic. Expect to face lots of mosquitoes in the summer.il y a une semaineFort Nelson River Bridge was once a rustic wooden bridge that has now been modernized and updated very efficiently. It's now very enjoyable to drive on it when traveling to or coming from the Northwest Territories. The views of the surrounding natural landscapes are also particularly beautiful.

The drinks and meals taste great. Prices are reasonable for a city that is overall rather expensive. The location can become quite crowded in the late mornings in the summer time, so make sure to arrive very early or very late.il y a 7 heuresThis particularly colourful building of Yukon Energy Corporation is certainly worth a detour while strolling through downtown Dawson City. When I visited the area, it wasn't possible to go inside but the ship is also worth being discovered from the outside. You can drive here from downtown Dawson which takes roughly twenty minutes but there are also hiking trails for more adventurous visitors. The views of the area with Dawson City, Klondike River and Yukon River are absolutely outstanding. There is also a lot of wildlife in the area. I was able to observe a cow moose and a calf on my way to the summit. Make sure to respect and enjoy the wilderness.il y a 7 heuresDredge No. 4 National Historic Site is a wonderful place to visit to learn more about the gold rush on Klondike River. Visits are available in English and French which is fair and perfect. Even if you don't go on a visit, this location is still worth a detour since there are numerous plaques telling you about the history of this area and you can take magnificent photographs of this massive dredge.il y a 7 heuresKlondike River Campground is a simple but beautiful campground by the Klondike River in the wilderness of northwestern Yukon. Dawson City and all its facilities are only about half an hour away from here.il y a 7 heuresDempster Highway Sign marks the southern terminus of Dempster Highway that extends all the way to Tuktoyaktuk and the Arctic Ocean. This is a very long, isolated and challenging ride, so make sure to be perfectly prepared and not to travel alone. This area here has a restroom facility, a card locked gas station and a few plaques providing more information about the area. Dawson City is roughly forty-five minutes away from here.il y a 8 heuresDevil's Elbow along Stewart River and the Silver Trail is one of the most beautiful spots to observe in the area. Make sure to stop your car, take a few photographs and let the beauty of nature sink in before continuing on your way to Mayo in the east, Dawson in the west or Stewart Crossing in the south.il y a 8 heuresBinet House Interpretive Centre in downtown Mayo offers some interesting exhibits inside and outside that deserve a short detour. The area outside could benefit from some minor maintenance or renovations.il y a 8 heuresSaint Mark's and Saint Mary's Anglican Church are among the most beautiful buildings in the small community of Mayo. This spot is only a ten-minute hike away from downtown. There are a few trails leading from and to nearby Stewart River but the vegetation gets in the way of the most beautiful outlooks.il y a 8 heuresThis viewing platform in downtown Mayo offers wonderful views of the little community in the north and Stewart River in the south. Several plaques provide more information about this area. When I visited this place in the summertime, there were three heavily intoxicated people on the platform who were randomly swearing at people and throwing objects at them. It would be great if local authorities could help avoiding such situations.il y a 8 heuresMayo Bigway Foods Limited is a decently sized grocery store where you can get plenty of drinks and meals for slightly elevated but still reasonable prices. Customer service is helpful and quick. The nearby area offers much parking space for local visitors and tourists.il y a 8 heuresStewart River Bridge is a scenic bridge along Klondike Highway. The views of Stewart River are beautiful. The small neighbouring community offers a rest stop and a gas station.il y a 8 heuresPelly Crossing Rest Stop is a wonderful little spot where you have an outstanding view of the valley with Pelly River and its community of the same name. There is enough space for about five cars. There are no restroom facilities or hiking trails here. You can however find a few plaques providing more information about the area. Visiting this spot takes about ten minutes.il y a 8 heuresFiver Finger Rapids are a mandatory stop on Klondike Highway. First and foremost, you have a nice parking lot with some restroom facilities and a decent lookout. Several plaques provide more information about this area. A staircase leads into the valley and towards the Yukon River. After about twenty minutes of hiking, you can observe the magnificent rapids from many different perspectives. Plan at least one hour for the round trip.il y a 2 joursCarmacks Roadhouse is a beautiful historic building that is worth a detour to take some photographs. There is a plaque offering some additional information about this location. However, you can't visit the building. Beware of roaming dogs in the immediate neighbourhood and the numerous mosquitoes in the summer.il y a 2 joursHotel Carmacks might not be the fanciest place but it's a clean and comfortable spot with a cozy bed and a convenient shower. Prices are reasonable as well. Staff is very helpful. The views of the nearby river are absolutely amazing. The location might not be the most elegant but it serves its purpose. The ancient buildings have been kept in great shape. Some plaques provide more information about this location. Walking around this location might only take five minutes. However, it's recommended to stop for a little picnic and use the restroom facilities while you are already there.il y a 2 joursProspectors' Spirit Statue is one of many wonderful monuments in downtown Whitehorse that honour important residents of the territory. It looks majestic and its surroundings next to the Yukon River are quite beautiful.il y a 2 joursMiles Canyon Viewpoint is a little bit rough to access but a hidden gem for more adventurous hikers who want to walk a loop around Schwatka Lake. The views from this location are indeed very beautiful. You can see the bridge, the canyon, the dam, the lake, the river and of course the surrounding forests splendidly from this location.il y a 2 joursRotary Centennial Bridge is a beautiful little structure across Yukon River. It offers great views of the river itself and the dam in the south. You will come across this location when walking a loop around Schwatka Lake or a loop around the river coming from downtown Whitehorse.il y a 2 joursWhitehorse Rapids Fishway, also known as the Fishladder offers stunning views of the dam, the fishway and the river. There are numerous plaques offering interesting information about this location. Staff is helpful and polite. Access is for free. Visiting this location should take between fifteen and thirty minutes. It's difficult to tell where the trail starts and ends. To get there, you have to climb and descent rather steep hills. However, the views from the top are certainly worth the effort. It's a favourite location for locals and a hidden gem for tourists. There is another bridge for pedestrians nearby from where you can take amazing photographs.il y a 3 joursSS Tutshi was once supposed to be steamship that locals and tourists were supposed to be able to visit. However, a fire destroyed large parts of it. These days, you can visit the remains of the wreck. There are some plaques giving you more information about this steamship. Visiting this wreck is for free and takes about fifteen minutes.il y a 3 joursSaint Saviour's Anglican Church is an old but beautiful building at the heart of Carcross that is situated only a few steps next to the local visitor centre.il y a 3 joursYukon Visitor Reception Centre in Carcross and its surrounding stores and restaurants are certainly worth to be explored. This is one of the most scenic urban locations in the entire territory. I stopped for fuel and to get some drinks and snacks. Prices were acceptable for such an isolated territory. Customer service was helpful. The selection of goods in the convenience store is actually quite decent.il y a 3 joursNisutlin Bay Bridge is an old-fashioned but charming bridge that goes along splendidly with Yukon's rough natural charm. Make sure to drive slowly here to take care of your wheels. The views of the surrounding landscapes are memorable.il y a 3 joursThis rest stop just south of Teslin offers a wonderful view of the valley. There is a little gazebo with a few plaques giving you more information about the region. The parking lot itself is rough and everything but beautiful.il y a 3 joursThis rest stop next to Morley Lake right on the border between Yukon and British Columbia is worth a short detour. The natural environment is very beautiful. This is also a great fishing spot. The trails aren't well-maintained and quite adventurous.il y a 3 joursRancheria Falls in Porcupine Creek are certainly worth a detour. It takes about fifteen minutes to walk from the parking lot to the falls. There are actually two different falls that are equally beautiful. The boardwalk in the area is easy to access. The entire hike isn't difficult at all. There are picnic tables and restroom facilities at the parking lot. Plan for about forty-five minutes to one hour to appreciate this area to its fullest.il y a 4 joursThe Welcome to British Columbia Sign is a quite colourful sight at the beginning or end of a winding road from or to Dease Lake that is rather challenging to drive.il y a 4 joursWye Lake Part is a wonderful hiking spot in Watson Lake. Walking all the way around the lake should take roughly one hour. The trails are well-maintained. Beware of the wild and loud dogs roaming the neighbourhood whose owners seem to be somewhat irresponsible.il y a 4 joursSign Post Forest is one of the most unique attractions in all of Yukon. Many people who have visited in the past decades and counting have left signs from their hometowns. These have been put together to form gigantic trees, poles and gates. Walking through the forest takes at least half an hour. Perhaps you might even find a sign from your own hometown!il y a 4 joursTempo Tags Watson Lake is a gas station and convenience store with slightly elevated but still reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and service is quick. It's the best place for fuel within hundreds of kilometres, so make sure to make a stop here.ril y a 4 joursUpper Liard River Crossing offers fantastic views of Liard River and a beautiful bridge. This spot certainly deserves a short detour to enjoy the beauty of nature and take some splendid photographs.
