Yellowhead Pass National Historic Site is a little stop along Yellowhead Highway that is situated right on the border of Alberta and British Columbia. There are benches, picnic tables and restroom facilities. It's also worth exploring nearby Portal Lake. The little loop on the eastern side of the lake takes about thirty minutes to complete and offers magnificent views of the surrounding landscapes.

Overlander Falls Trailhead is a mandatory stop along Yellowhead Highway. There is a little parking area for about twenty vehicles along the highway. Walking down to the wonderful Overlander Falls takes roughly fifteen minutes. The trail is a little bit steep, so make sure to tread carefully. The magnificent views of the falls are however certainly worth the effort. The trail continues westwards towards Mount Robson Visitor Centre for about forty-five minutes. The latter section of the trail is peaceful and quiet as most tourists tend to avoid to explore it and are missing out on an adventurous trail and magnificent views.

City Centre Mall in downtown Kitimat looks like a shopping mall that is still stuck in the eighties. Its architecture reminds of the mall in abandoned community Kitsault. Many stores are currently empty and only about half of the mall actually consists of open shops. The greatest element of this mall is the small Asian restaurant that offers great food that isn't available in similar locations. Locals should definitely go there and support this little business.
