• My Predictions for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar: Third Place Play-Off and Final

    Dear visitors of my blog.

These are my predictions for the last two games of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar: the third place play-off between Croatia and Morocco and of course the final between Argentina and France. Despite all the controversy about the host country, this tournament has overall been the most beautiful World Cup I have ever followed from an objective perspective. Sure, the first World Cup I actively remember which took place in France all the way back in 1998, the outstanding atmosphere of the World Cup in my home country Germany in 2006 or the marvelous World Cup in Brazil in 2014 when Germany won the title are all amazing memories. However, the quality of the games in this 2022 World Cup has been absolutely oustanding, especially after the somewhat lackluster 2018 World Cup in Russia and the disappointing UEFA Euro 2016 in France and the UEFA Euro 2020 that actually took place all around Europe in 2021. The sad news is that the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar will soon be over. The good news is that the 2026 World Cup is only three and a half years away this time around, if everything goes well. Another exciting element is that several games of the next World Cup are going to be taking place in Toronto and Vancouver. Perhaps I might get the opportunity to attend one of the games or at least enjoy an electric atmosphere in Canada. I'll be writing down my thoughts again in three and a half years, fingers crossed. I would like to thank you for your loyalty and wish you all a wonderful holiday season!
