Dear readers,

It has been a tradition for many years to prepare rock and metal playlists for my friends that we listen to during our parties in Germany. However, I couldn't make it back to my home country for two years and a half in a row due to the ongoing pandemic. This is why I decided to create a setlist that only covers songs released between my last visit and my current return to home soil. This means that all of the following eighty-five songs have been released between January 2020 and July 2022. Those who claim that no good music isn't being released anymore nowadays couldn't be more wrong. This playlist skips so called classics and favourites and give you a healthy dose of rock and metal music of numerous genres, varying from electronic rock (Placebo) over alternative rock (Mando Diao) to punk rock (The Offspring) as well as from power metal (Blind Guardian) over gothic metal (Sinisthra) to death metal (Six Feet Under). Bands from numerous different countries are covered here such as Canada (Voivod), Denmark (Volbeat), Finland (The Rasmus), France (Fairyland), Germany (In Extremo), Greece (Septicflesh), Hungary (Thy Catafalque), Iceland (Solstafir), India (Girish and the Chronicles), Italy (NanowaR of Steel), Japan (Ningen Isu), the Netherlands (Carach Angren), Norway (Gothminister), Spain (Lords of Black), Sweden (Ghost), Taiwan (Bloody Tyrant), the United Kingdom (Wolfsbane) and the United States of America (Unto Others). The following eighty-five songs offer seven hours and twenty minutes of entertainment. This might be the greatest playlist I have created thus far.
