Belleville Zwick East Flagpole is one of Belleville's hidden gems. Situated on Zwick Island, this spot offers beautiful views of Belleville Harbour. There are a few banks where you can rest and enjoy a peaceful moment with a loved one. Several trails connect from and to the flagpole. It's a nice spot for a relaxed stroll with family, friends or pets. The location is roughly ten minutes away from the closest parking lot and only a very short drive away from downtown Belleville.

Lott Dam

Lott Damm is situated halfway between downtown Belleville and the VIA Rail train station. It's beautifully situated on the Moira River and you can cross the dam by bike or foot. The dam also offers wonderful photo opportunities with the backdrop of downtown Belleville and its numerous bridges, buildings and parks.

Moira River is a nice place to explore in Belleville. The river is wide but not very deep. You can observe numerous animals such as ducks, geese and seagulls. There are multiple hiking trails along the river, leading from the highway to the harbour. There are several little bridges, memorials and playgrounds along the way. However, you can't swim in the river since there are dangerous dams in several sections.

R.T. Potter Park is a very small park consisting of an old city car wreck with a few flowers around it. The basic idea isn't too bad but the execution could be a little bit more creative. The park could also need some more maintenance.

Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment Memorial honours local military institutions. It's perfectly situated at the junction of Bay Bridge Road and Dundas Street. The memorial is well-maintained and offers a beautiful photograph opportunity.

The Werner Dietz Park

Zwicks Trails, Belleville, ON K8P 3Y7

The Werner Dietz Park is a beautiful waterfront trail that takes roughly twenty minutes to complete for a roundtrip. The monuments and flags offer excellent photograph opportunities. Sadly, the trail just ends in the western part and doesn't connect to any other road, street or trail.

Belleville Bay Bridge

Belleville Bay Bridge connects the cities of Belleville and Rossmore in a beautiful and elegant way. There are numerous interesting photograph opportunities nearby on Zwick Island with its numerous trails. Make a stop there before crossing over to Rossmore or when coming from there.

I'm not exactly sure why Zwick Island is called this way but it certainly is a beautiful peninsula with many well-maintained hiking trails, cute little monuments and a few buildings for festival purposes. It's a great spot for a relaxed walk in the nature and only about twenty minutes away from downtown Belleville.

Crate Marine Belleville

Crate Marina Belleville is a wonderful spot by the Moira River and the Belleville Harbour. There are several hiking trails nearby that invite for relaxed strolls, beautiful photograph opportunities and smooth breaks where city meets nature.

Meyers Creek Brewing Company

Meyers Creek Brewing Company is one of the greatest microbreweries in Ontario. The different beers offer much variety and taste great. The prices are very reasonable and the store offers some interesting merchandise as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Restrooms are upstairs and very clean but difficult to access for people with reduced mobility. The only elements that are missing are an open taproom and proper patio for customers but it certainly only is a matter of time for these things to see the light of day.

The Corporation of the City of Belleville is the city's most stunning building. It's certainly worth a detour and a stop. It can be photographed from many different angles. It's situated in the heart of downtown. You can find a market place as well as the bus terminal behind the city hall.

Belleville Cenotaph is a wonderful memorial dedicated to those who sacrificed their lives for a better future. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. The different parts of the memorial are properly maintained and beautifully situated next to Moira River.

Union Station's Concourse Hall or Food Court offers a vast selection of different restaurants for every taste from Asian over Middle Eastern to North American fast food. The location is well-maintained and proofs of vaccination are accurately verified to enter. However, the number of tables is fairly limited for such a popular train station.

Eglinton West Subway Station is currently undergoing major construction. It's difficult to find the different bus stations and bus stops. There is no map or itinerary to help you either. The bus drivers were not particularly helpful or polite either. Let's hope that things will look and work better once the construction has been completed.

Denny's is a diversified restaurant where I went to enjoy a generous breakfast with excellent coffee and a great smoothie. The prices are really fair if compared to similar restaurants. The waitress was very charming, helpful and polite. This might become my new favourite breakfast restaurant in town.

It's also possible to sit on one of several benches and observe the beauty of Lake Ontario as well as the nearby Keating Channel and the numerous boats and ships on it.

Sugar Beach Park

Sugar Beach Park is situated on the northern shore of Lake Ontario. There is a small beach with several chairs and umbrellas. Going here in the summer feels like visiting a resort in a southern country in the downtown sector of a northern metropolis.

Harbour Square Park is a busy but beautiful place close to the ferry terminal, several hiking trails and numerous tourist shops. You can take wonderful pictures of Lake Ontario here. This is a great place to start a hike or a stroll as there are wonderful locations to be discovered both on the western and on the eastern shore as well as on the nearby islands in the south.

Exhibition GO train station is situated only minutes away from BMO Field. The train goes directly to Union Station in downtown Toronto. A ticket currently costs four dollars and forty cents. The station is well-maintained and offers lots of space. You can easily find information on prices and schedules.

Contemporary Murals

Contemporary Murals can be found at South Humber Park right before the Humber River flows into Lake Ontario. The murals add some colourful elements to a section of the park that impresses less with natural beauty and is more of a functional use.

South Humber Park connects the Pan Am Path along the Humber River to Lake Ontario. Walking through the entire park takes roughly twenty minutes. It's a great spot for hiking and cycling but the beauty of nature isn't as outstanding as in many other parks further north and south.

Oculus Pavilion is situated at South Humber Park. It's an interesting little spot for concerts or theatre plays in the summer. As for the rest of the year, the pavilion looks lost and abandoned.

King's Mill Park

King's Mill Park is a gigantic park with numerous different sections situated on the western bank of Humber River along the Pan Am Path. Despite its size, the park is a lot less spectacular than many others parks in the same area. It's only interesting to move from south to north or the other way around but there are few reasons to stop here.

Old Mill Bridge

Old Mill Bridge crosses the Humber River via the Pan Am Path. This old bridge has a stunning architecture and is well-maintained. However, there is no sidewalk which makes it somewhat complicated to cross for cyclists and pedestrians.

Parc Etienne Brulé

Parc Etienne Brulé is situated on the eastern bank of the Humber River right along the Pan Am Path. There is a big parking lot leading to several trails that allow you to admire the surrounding beauty of nature. There are also numerous spots admired by fisherwomen and fishermen. Parts of the park are currently undergoing construction but most areas remain accessible without any problems.

Magwood Park

Guelph Radial Line Bridge crosses the Humber River via the Pan Am Path. The old bridge is well-maintained and looks stunning in the middle of nature. You can also sit down here and observe the beauty of nature all around you. Several fishermen and fisherwomen are also coming to this place.

Lambton Woods

Lambton Woods are certainly the most wooded area along the Humber River and the Pan Am Path. There are many small hiking trails that give you the opportunity to admire the ancient trees all around you. Those adventurous trails are also used by cyclists who can practise their talents here.

James Gardens

Raymore Park

Raymore Park is situated on the western side of the Humber River on the Pan Am Path. You can find a dog off leash area and a playground here. There are numerous benches right beside the Humber River. The natural scenery is quite stunning with its little islands and waterfalls. However, the park is currently partially closed as the southern end is under reconstruction. You can't walk past the construction site and have to leave via Weston Lions Park or Raymore Drive.

Weston Lions Park

Weston Lions Park is one of the biggest parks along the Pan Am Path situated right next to the Humber River. There are an arena, a baseball field, an outdoor pool, a skatepark, a soccer field and a tennis court. Weston Train station is only five minutes away and connects you directly to downtown Toronto. This is a perfect spot for sportspeople to take a break from the busy big city life.

Cruickshank Park

Cruickshank Park is one of the most beautiful parks along the Pan Am Path and the Humber River. There are several benches and spots for picnics. There are even a few little sculptures to find. The local playground is a wonderful spot for families with young children. The park is overall well-maintained and worth a detour and stop.

Mallaby Park

Mallaby Park is a tiny little park that connects to the Pan Am Path and Humber River via a few stairs. The park looks beautiful but suffers from visitors who smoke drugs, listen to loud music and drink alcohol in public in broad daylight. The park could therefore need some cleaning, maintenance and surveillance.

Crawford - Jones Memorial Park

Crawford Jones Memorial Park is a beautiful spot to cycle, hike or organize a picnic with friends. It's situated on the Pan Am Path right next to the Humber River. Sadly, this park doesn't directly connect to Mallaby Park. You have to walk down Cardell Avenue and Weston Road to get there. Currently, parts of the park are under construction, probably to fix said issue and provide a direct link between Crawford Jones Memorial Park and Mallaby Park.

Pine Point Soccer Field

Pine Point Soccer Field is easily accessible via Highway 401 but nevertheless situated in a beautifully natural area. It's situated right next to Humber River and connects to the Pan Am Path. It's a great spot to practise sports and offers an excellent balance between big city life and the magnificence of Canadian nature.

Humber Valley Pond is a beautiful spot to observe ducks, geese and seagulls. There are several trails leading partially around the pond. The only missing element is a map with indications of the different trails to help new visitors understand where they are and where they could go from here.

The West Humber Pond is a small body of water that takes roughly twenty minutes to walk around. You can observe many animals such as seagulls, geese and ducks here. It would be helpful to add a map with the different hiking trails to give visitors a better idea where they are and where they can go from here.

Rowntree Mills Park is a gigantic park along the Humber River. There are numerous trails, picnic sites and bridges. The only element that doesn't quite fit in with the beauty of nature are the long and bland roads through the park. One single parking lot at the entrance and more hiking trails would be a better alternative.

McDonald's on Yonge Street's intersection with Grenville and Wood Streets is conveniently situated in downtown Toronto. The opening hours are very generous, even throughout the pandemic. Staff is friendly and helpful. The wait time is however a little bit longer than at other locations. Some of the customers had very rude behaviour when I visited but were thankfully put in their place by the staff.

Laird Convenience is a little convenience store that looks a little bit unorganized. However, it offers a lot of drinks and snacks for reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly and helpful but has at times issues with the English language.

Glendon Forest is situated between York University Glendon Campus and Sunnybrook Park. There is a small trail connecting the campus and the park that takes roughly twenty minutes to traverse. The forest is calm and dense. The bridges and paths on the eastern side are currently closed but you can use the western side to move from north to south or the other way around.

Wilket Creek Washroom

Wilket Creek Washroom is strategically placed on the southern side of Wilket Creek Park. The building is well-maintained, spacious and most importantly open all year long. The washroom could however benefit from some additional cleaning and some more hand sanitizer and soap during the pandemic.

Wilket Creek Park is situated just north of E.T. Seton Park on the West Branch of Don River. The hiking trails are a little bit smaller and more adventurous as nature is more dense and savage. This park offers the perfect escape from the big city life while only being a short drive away from downtown Toronto.

You can find numerous hiking trails, benches, picnic tables, restroom facilities and spaces that invite for sports activities. This park is a wonderful oasis of calmness, nature and peace in Canada's most populous city.

Charles Sauriol Park is situated next to the Forks of the Don. There are some benches and picnic tables. There is a hiking trail connecting the southern and northern parts. Most of the park is dedicated to a gigantic parking lot that takes away from the surrounding natural beauty. Directions are slightly confusing as there should be more maps to help new visitors find their ways.

The Forks of the Don are not accessible but can be observed from afar and offer a nice photo opportunity. Directions in the area could be better as the different trails are somewhat confusing. A few maps would certainly help new visitors to find their ways.

Taylor Creek Park is situated in a beautiful natural environment. You can find benches for picnics, a dog park and fire pits in the big park. The only downside is that parts of the park are currently under construction which takes away much from the natural beauty.

Elevated Wetlands

Elevated Wetlands are a series of sculptures combined with elements of nature. While the initial idea sounds intriguing, the sculptures are hidden by numerous trees and difficult to see, photograph and access. The placement on the side of a road that could use some maintenance is also less than ideal.

The most interesting elements about Todmorden Mills Heritage Site are the surrounding historic buildings and gorgeous natural landscapes. Visiting the site takes roughly thirty minutes but you can also sit on a bench, have a picnic and take some pictures. The mill is only open on select days and you can visit some intriguing exhibits.

The Don Valley Park offers an impressive number of long trails that invite to hike along the Don River. You can walk for hours without getting bored or bothered by the surrounding metropolis. The only element that could be improved are directions. Sometimes, it's not exactly clear where the different trails are going and a map or plan placed at strategic points would be helpful for tourists and other visitors.

Usually, a cemetery is a rather sinister place but the Toronto Necropolis surprises with well-maintained historic buildings, a beautiful and calm natural environment and artistic tombstones and memorials. It's certainly not mandatory to visit but perhaps the most beautiful graveyard in town.

Riverdale Farm

Riverdale Farm is open all year long and doesn't charge any entrance fee. You can observe some beautiful farm buildings as well as farm animals like turkeys, sheep and chickens. This place is particularly intriguing for infants and young children. Visiting the farm takes between thirty to sixty minutes. Restrooms are available but everything else is closed during the ongoing pandemic at the farm.

Riverdale Park has a small upper and a big lower section that offer much space. In the upper part, you can admire some sculptures, sit on a few benches or visit the nearby farm. In the lower part, you can play baseball, play with your dog or start a little hike along the Don River. This is certainly one of Toronto's most beautiful parks and worth a detour and visit.

Canadian Premier League (CPL) Commissioner David Clanachan announced that SixFive Sports & Entertainment LP (SixFive) has been awarded an expansion franchise in Vancouver, British Columbia. The ninth Canadian Premier League club plans to join the league for the 2023 season.

SixFive is a Canadian-based investment fund that seeks to establish a diversified global portfolio of professional sports teams and infrastructure centred around an engaged and intimate community sports experience. Many people keep asking me why I support the Arizona Coyotes. Last night's 5:4 victory against the Seattle Kraken exemplifies everything I admire about this team. The Arizona Coyotes have always faced more challenges than any other team in the league: arena issues, ownership issues and relocation rumours are only some issues to be mentioned. And yet, throughout all those struggles, the Arizona Coyotes have always prevailed and given a strong example for determination, hope and resilience. This was precisely the case last night. The Seattle Kraken scored with their first two shots on goal. The goaltender was pulled. Everything seemed to be set for a disastrous night got the Arizona Coyotes. They could have broken an all-time record with twelve losses to start the season. But then, the Arizona Coyotes fought their way back into the game by any means necessary and eventually even took an inspiring 4:3 lead. However, things are never easy with the Arizona Coyotes. With just over a minute to play in regular time, the Seattle Kraken scored the equalizer and seemed to have the momentum on their side. But just as usual, the Arizona Coyotes just wouldn't give up and instead fought against the odds. With their next attack, they scored the unexpected winning goal and celebrated this victory with dedication, emotion and pride. Oh, and by the way: those who claim that the Arizona Coyotes have low attendance figures due to the team being dreadful and the arena being far away from downtown: 15045 people attended the game at Gila River Arena last night. Just for comparison: there were only 13835 fans in Florida, 12417 fans in Ottawa and 8171 fans in Buffalo yesterday. All these teams are playing much better than the Arizona Coyotes right now. This goes to show that the fans of the Arizona Coyotes are loyal and support their team no matter what. The story of the Arizona Coyotes is very similar to our actual lives. Sometimes we relocate, leaving family and friends behind and we aren't sure where we are going. Sometimes, people talk trash about us and attempt to bring us down. Sometimes, bosses, colleagues, family members, friends and girlfriends turn on us and leave us behind in devastation. The important lesson is to stand up again and again to make your wildest dreams come true. This is what life is all about: enjoying it to the limit every single day while staying humble and keeping a positive state of mind. Here's to the Arizona Coyoyes, here's to living the dream!
